Reservist Wounded by Explosive Device Attached to Palestinian Flag
By Yoni Weiss
An IDF reservist sustained minor wounds on Sunday morning when an explosive device attached to a Palestinian flag detonated. The incident took place along Road 60, situated between the settlements of Kochav HaShachar and Moledet, in the eastern Binyamin region.
Initial reports indicate that the 25-year-old attempted to remove the Palestinian flag planted by the roadside, triggering the explosion that resulted in shrapnel wounds to his hands.
Medical personnel treated the injured man at the scene, but he declined evacuation to a hospital for further evaluation and treatment, despite recommendations to do so.
Footage captured at the scene depicts the man kicking the Palestinian flag just moments before the explosive went off.
