Special Pre-Pesach Sanitation Collection in Flatbush
By Hamodia Staff
As in previous years, New York City Mayor Eric Adams and the Department of Sanitation (DSNY) have arranged special accommodations for additional pre-Pesach sanitation services in many Brooklyn neighborhoods.
An extra pick-up for regular refuse and recycling will take place in Flatbush on Monday, April 22. DSNY has requested that the community begin curbside placement of any extra Pesach related material beginning Sunday evening, April 21st.
In addition to the special collections, residents can deliver their refuse to public Sanitation dumpsters at the following locations:
- Avenue P and East 27th Street
- 2913 Avenue L
- 2810 Nostrand Avenue
- Quentin Road and East 35th Street
- 3311 Avenue S
No commercial refuse or burning objects may be placed in these dumpsters.
In response to the request of the Jewish community, DSNY has established a special hot-line: 718-449-2671. This number will be active from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on April 22nd, Erev Pesach, to report any issues with the special “chametz removal” collections.
