Mrs. Rachel Goldberg-Polin, the mother of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, who is one of 133 hostages currently held by Hamas in Gaza since Oct. 7, has been recognized by TIME magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World for 2024.

Her recognition is a tribute to her relentless advocacy and efforts to draw international attention to the hostage situation. The crisis began when Hersh, along with over 200 others, was captured by Hamas. Since Oct. 7, Goldberg-Polin, supported by her husband Jon Polin and numerous other families, has been a vocal advocate for the release of all hostages.

Her inclusion on the TIME100 list highlights the profound impact of her work in mobilizing support for the hostages and influencing key decision-makers globally.

Upon receiving this honor, Goldberg-Polin expressed her deep gratitude and reiterated the importance of sustained global focus and action: “I am grateful to TIME for including me in the TIME100 and for acknowledging the critical importance of resolving this hostage crisis.”
