Report: U.S. Intelligence Warns of Looming Iranian Attack on Israel

A Bloomberg report on Wednesday evening said that the United States warned of an impending significant attack by Iran on Israel, expected to occur in the near future. This warning is grounded in intelligence shared between the U.S. and Israel.

Unnamed sources familiar with the intelligence assessments from both the U.S. and Israel have informed Bloomberg that the question is not if Tehran will initiate an attack, but rather when it will take place. The exact origin of the potential attack, whether directly from Iran or executed by its regional proxies, remains uncertain.

The report also points out the U.S.’s specific worries that Iran might deploy high-precision missiles or drones for the attack. These concerns are exacerbated by recent statements from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has called for retribution against Israel following an alleged attack on an Iranian consular facility in Damascus, Syria, earlier in the month.
