New Budapest Eruv to Be in Service This Shabbos

The Badat”z of Budapest, Hungary, announced Thursday the opening of a new eruv which will be in service this Shabbos for the “Pest” side of the city.
“After many years of work, we succeeded b’ezras Hashem to create an eruv in Pest,” Harav Baruch Oberlander, head of the Beis Din wrote in his letter of certification of the eruv. “Everything was done according to halacha as delineated in Shulchan Aruch and the poskim, with the council of esteemed Rabbanim, experts in the laws of eruvin.
Rav Oberlander stressed that the eruv only covers the Pest side of the Danube River, and not Buda. “Great care must be taken to only carry within the borders of the eruv, marked in the map that is now being circulated,” the letter read.
