Jewish Man Stabbed in New City

A Jewish man was stabbed in front of 23 Trailside Place in New City on Thursday evening as he went outside to get something from his car.

The assailant asked the victim a question and then attacked him with a knife, stabbing him eight times before fleeing. The victim suffered serious injuries, and was transported by Hatzalah to Westchester Medical Center.

The assailant is described as a black male with a beard with a skinny build and wearing a dark colored sweatshirt. Police have detained a man matching the description of the perpetrator, but he has not admitted to the crime. According to a statement by Ramapo Police, “The individual was cooperative and released from custody pending further investigation.”

The attack was not captured on surveillance footage, but police and Chaveirim are looking for any footage in the area that may help solve the crime.
