U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Sunday that it had destroyed a surface-to-air missile system used by Houthi terrorists in the Red Sea one day prior.

“CENTCOM forces successfully destroyed one mobile surface-to air missile system in Houthi controlled territory of Yemen,” the military wing wrote on social media.

“CENTCOM forces also shot down one unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) over the Red Sea. Additionally, at approximately 6:00 p.m. (Sanaa time), a Coalition vessel detected and successfully engaged and destroyed one inbound anti-ship missile. There were no injuries or damage reported by U.S., coalition, or commercial ships.

“It was determined that these systems presented a threat to U.S. and coalition forces and merchant vessels in the region,” the statement continued.

Houthi terrorists have been targeting western ships crossing the Red Sea since shortly after the Oct. 7 massacre, in an attempt to disrupt world trade.
