Four Officers Wounded in Vehicular Attack Near Kochav Yair

Four Israel Police officers were wounded in a vehicular assault near the Kochav Yair junction in central Israel overnight Tuesday.

Emergency medics from Magen David Adom attended to the victims at the scene, where one officer was severely wounded, another was moderately wounded, and two others suffered minor wounds.

The officers were reportedly manning a makeshift checkpoint aimed at apprehending car thieves, as per police sources. The terrorist, a 26-year-old resident of the nearby Arab Israeli town of Tira, drove toward the Eliyahu crossing leading to Yehudah and Shomron. Upon reaching the crossing, he attempted to stab security personnel, who responded by fatally shooting him.
