Since Start of Gaza War, 600 Soldiers Killed, Hy”d

The toll of Israeli soldiers lost in the Gaza war continues to mount, with the latest casualties being Staff Sgt. Nadav Cohen, Hy”d, 20, from Haifa, and Sgt. First Class Sivan Weil, Hy”d, 20, from Ra’anana. Their deaths bring the toll to 600 killed since Oct. 7, 2023.

Staff Sgt. Nadav Cohen, part of the 7th Armored Brigade’s 77th Battalion, was killed by an anti-tank missile in Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip. His death marks the 256th soldier to lose their life during the ground operation in Gaza.

Sgt. First Class Sivan Weil, a member of the Commando Brigade’s Egoz unit, succumbed to wounds sustained in combat with Hamas in the Khan Yunis area. Weil was part of the Egoz force struck by an RPG missile near Nasser Hospital. The attack claimed the life of Sgt. First Class Alon Kudriashov and left 15 other Egoz soldiers injured. Weil, one of six service members severely wounded, passed away from his injuries early Sunday. He is survived by his parents, who immigrated from France in 1998, as well as two brothers and a sister.
