National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir urged Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Monday to summon Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over reports indicating that IDF troops had been put at risk in the Gaza Strip.

Concerns were raised by parents of soldiers in the Egoz unit, who claimed their sons had received instructions to minimize damage to Qatari buildings, potentially jeopardizing their safety.

In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, Ben-Gvir emphasized, “Our finest soldiers were not deployed to risk their lives in combat so that Hamas sympathizers in Qatar could safeguard their assets, or to garner slightly more favorable coverage from the international media for Israel – they were sent to defeat Hamas and secure the return of hostages. There is no justification for endangering our courageous fighters for the sake of public relations and appeasing the Qataris.”
