Three Hamas terrorists, including two individuals released in the “Shalit deal,” and the head of Gaza City’s rocket unit, were killed in Shifa Hospital, the IDF said.

Forces from the 401st Brigade and Shayetet 13, operating under the command of the 162nd Division, in coordination with the Intelligence Directorate and the Shin Bet, are actively engaged in operations within the Shifa Hospital compound.

In recent days, IDF soldiers encountered terrorists outside the hospital premises and successfully neutralized them.

Guided by intelligence provided by the Intelligence Directorate and the Shin Bet regarding the presence of high-ranking members of terrorist organizations within the hospital complex, Shayetet 13, the Duvdevan Unit, and the Nachal Brigade’s Reconnaissance Unit conducted a targeted raid on a specific building within the hospital, resulting in an encounter with terrorists.

During the confrontation with armed terrorists emerging from the ER compound, a number of militants, including senior Hamas leader Ra’ad Thabat and Mahmoud Khalil Ziqzouq, were neutralized. Additionally, Fadi Dewik and Zakariya Najeeb, terrorists operating within the maternity hospital, were also neutralized.

The operation involved close-combat engagements with terrorists, leading to the discovery of numerous weapons, including sniper rifles, Kalashnikov rifles, magazines, grenades, and intelligence materials.

Following the operation, the IDF emphasized its commitment to continued operations within the compound while prioritizing the safety of civilians, patients, medical staff, and medical equipment.
