Boro Park Vizhnitz Cheder Evacuated Due to Manhole Explosion, B’Chasdei Hashem No Injuries

The Vizhnitz cheder on 18th Avenue and 53 Street in Boro Park had to be evacuated Tuesday morning due to a manhole explosion near the building.
B’chasdei Hashem there were no injuries.
Students at the cheder were sent home via school buses. Shomrim tell Hamodia that initially surrounding streets were closed to allow the buses to pass, but all streets are currently open except for the block of the school.
At around 12:25 p.m. there was an additional explosion at another manhole on the same street. There were no injuries reported.
It is not known at this time what caused the explosions.
