Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said to CBS News in an interview on Sunday that Israel’s forthcoming military operation in Rafah is poised to bring about “total victory” against the Hamas terror group “within weeks.” Rafah has seen a significant influx of refugees displaced amid the war against the Hamas.

Netanyahu revealed a comprehensive strategy involving the evacuation of Palestinian civilians from Gaza alongside a targeted operation to dismantle remaining Hamas battalions. Despite ongoing talks regarding a potential hostage deal with Hamas, Netanyahu emphasized that it would not hinder the planned IDF operation in Rafah.

While acknowledging the uncertainty of a hostage deal, Netanyahu affirmed that the IDF operation would proceed nevertheless, stating, “If we have a deal, it will be delayed somewhat, but it will happen. If we don’t have a deal, we’ll do it anyway.”

The Prime Minister said he is set to review the military plan with his staff.
