Death of Sgt. Oz Daniel, Hy”d – Killed on Simchas Torah – Confirmed; Body Still Held in Gaza

The IDF on Sunday officially announced the death of Sgt. Oz Daniel, Hy”d, 19, who was killed and his body abducted by Hamas on Simchas Torah.
Sgt. Daniel served in the 7th Armored Brigade’s 77th Battalion, and after a confrontation with terrorists during the Hamas onslaught, his body was taken from the Gaza border.
The declaration of his death by the IDF Chief Rabbi Eyal Krim is based on findings and new intelligence information.
Sgt. Daniel, the son of, yblch”t, Meirav and Amir, and the twin of his sister Hadar, was stationed on the Gaza border and was kidnapped during the terror attacks on Simchas Torah along with his tank crew.
As of now, Daniel’s body is still held captive by Hamas. While his remains are still in Gaza, according to halachah, after the conformation of his death, his family can observe shivah.
