El Al has announced a gesture of appreciation for Israelis who served for at least 30 days during the Gaza war. The airline will provide at least 10,000 plane tickets to these individuals, who only need to cover airport taxes.

The special discount applies to various destinations, including Zurich, Sofia, Vienna, Thessaloniki, Paphos, Larnaca, Budapest, Bucharest, and Athens.

Tickets can be claimed from this week, with travel valid from May 5 through Feb. 17, 2025. While availability may be limited for certain periods, the initiative allows around 10,000 soldiers to fly with minimal expenses. Eligibility requires documentation of active reserve duty or a copy of the active-duty card for those still completing mandatory service. Registration is exclusively digital on El Al’s website, and special ticket holders will receive priority boarding and recognition during flights.
