Economy Minister Nir Barkat has secured broad agreements with key players in the food sector, including the heads of Strauss, Tnuva, Tempo, Central Bottling Company (Coca-Cola Israel), Shimrit Salads, Diplomat, and Sugat, on price caps.

Additionally, there has been an agreement on future price caps, action on already increased prices, and measures on additional products. Each company is expected to independently announce the agreements with the public.

Companies that have been added to the blacklist include Osem, Schestowitz, Wissotsky, Unilever, Yachin, Wilifood, Beit Hashita, Achva, and Zoglobek.

Barkat stated, “I want to thank the companies that joined the initiative voluntarily and reached agreements with me on price freezes. This is a proactive move aimed at enhancing the economic solidarity during wartime. The strength of the move lies in the fact that it is voluntary, and the only obstacle is the public’s judgment.

“The goal of the move is to strengthen the power of the small consumer and to serve as their envoy against the strong bodies in the economy, and to bypass regulatory and bureaucratic obstacles.”
