Young Jewish Man Assaulted in Crown Heights

A young Jewish man was the victim of an alleged assault Tuesday morning while on his way to shul, Crown Heights Shmira tells Hamodia.

The victim, in his 20’s, was allegedly punched in the head by the suspect, without an exchange of words or any other interaction, at around 7 a.m. near Lincoln Place and Albany Avenue. The victim sustained light injuries, and lost his glasses as a result of being hit.

The suspect then fled the scene.

Shmira was called and it began an investigation, gathering surveillance footage and searching for the suspect. Members also assisted the victim in recovering his glasses, and he was examined by EMS.

The victim filed a police report, and while the NYPD is investigating, its Hate Crime Task Force has reportedly not taken up the case.
