Two Queens Brothers Indicted for Planning Large-Scale Attacks on Cops, Politicians, Celebrities, Bankers

Two Queens brothers with a large arsenal of weapons were indicted Monday after allegedly planning to unleash large-scale attacks on a “hit list” consisting of politicians, police officers, celebrities, bankers, judges, and others.

Police say that Andrew Hatziagelis, 39, and Angelo Hatziagelis, 51, maintained an “arsenal” of ghost guns – homemade firearms – assault rifles, bombs, and other weapons, as well as “anarchist propaganda” in addition to the hit list.

Police said Monday that the discovered weapons cache “had the potential to wreak horrendous carnage.”

“We cannot measure the number of lives that were saved, but we do know that these weapons will never hurt anyone,” Queens D.A. Melinda Katz said in a statement, according to WINS News. “Upon securing a search warrant we worked with the NYPD, Homeland Security, State Police and uncovered eight fully operable bombs, several guns and numerous other weapons.”

The Hatziagelis brothers were hit by a 130-count indictment and are awaiting arraignment, Katz said. They are due to reappear in court February 15.

Seven guns were recovered, including rifles, handguns, and ghost guns, over 600 rounds of ammunition for each of the guns, three sets of body armor, nine pyrotechnic smoke bombs and a 3D printer.

Police made the discovery and arrested the brothers on January 17.
