France’s Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu is to arrive in Israel on Sunday night for a series of meetings scheduled for Monday.

The agenda includes discussions with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, War Cabinet Minister Benny Gantz, and National Security Adviser Tzachi Hanegbi.

Lecornu will also meet with families of French hostages held in Gaza. The French Embassy outlines that the discussions will primarily focus on the Gaza conflict, efforts to secure the release of hostages, the humanitarian situation in Gaza, and France’s initiatives to prevent escalation in Lebanon and the Red Sea.

Lecornu’s visit follows his recent trips to Egypt and Lebanon and marks his return to Israel since his previous visit in November.
