BD”E: Reb Leibel Rubin, Z”l, of Boro Park

By Hamodia Staff

The Bobov community mourns the petirah of the esteemed Rabbi Aryeh (Leibel) Rubin, z”l, of Boro Park and one of the leading supporters of the Bobov mosdos. He passed away at the age of 73 after battling a prolonged illness.

Reb Leibel, z”l, was the son of Reb Yonah Rubin. He was connected deeply with the Bobov community and was close to the Rebbes of the dynasty, including the Divrei Shlomo, zy”a, and the present Rebbe, shlita.

Despite his substantial business engagements, he consistently dedicated specific times for Torah, devoting his mornings to learning. He also supported the Heichal HaTorah in the main Bobov Beis Medrash in Boro Park, in memory of his late father, Reb Yonah.

Known for his hospitality, his home welcomed guests graciously. Chassidim arriving from Israel stayed in his home, and he treated them with kindness, displaying exceptional simplicity and attending to all their needs.

Just last year, he visited Eretz Yisrael alongside the Bobover Rebbe, shlita, for the dedication ceremony of the Rubin Building of the Bobov Yeshivah in Bnei Brak.

He leaves behind a blessed generation, including sons, daughters, sons-in-law, and many grandchildren who continue in his illustrious path.

His levayah will take place Friday at 9:45 a.m. from the Bobov beis medrash in Boro Park.

Yehi zichro baruch.
