Kfir Brigade Demolishes Over 30 Hamas Tunnels in Gaza

The Kfir Brigade, established in 2005, was active on Monday in the Gaza Strip for the first time, as announced by the IDF spokesperson. They have successfully located and demolished over 30 tunnel shafts used by Hamas terrorists.

According to the IDF, the Kfir Brigade is engaged in close combat operations against Hamas terrorists, specifically targeting and eliminating the underground tunnels utilized by the group. The brigade is working together with engineering, armor, and artillery units in the northern Gaza Strip. Their joint efforts are aimed at neutralizing Hamas forces and facilitating ongoing IDF operations in the area.

They have also coordinated numerous airstrikes and approximately 100 artillery strikes, eliminating multiple Hamas targets. Additionally, the brigade’s engineering forces have successfully destroyed several crucial Hamas tunnels containing weapons.

Colonel Yaniv Barot, the Kfir Brigade commander, expressed pride in leading the brigade during its inaugural operation. He emphasized the brigade’s preparedness and determination to fulfill each assigned task. Col. Barot highlighted the cooperation with other units and the Air Force as pivotal to their operational success.
