Both Itay Regev, 18, and his sister Maya Regev, 21, were reunited at Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva Thursday morning after being separated and held in Gaza following their abduction on Oct. 7.

Itay, who was freed Wednesday night from Hamas captivity after over 50 days in Gaza, met his sister Maya, who had been released four days earlier, at Soroka Hospital.

Upon her arrival in Israel on Sunday, Maya, who had sustained a leg injury, underwent surgery at Soroka Hospital.

Both siblings were abducted from southern Israel and taken to Gaza by Hamas.

Their father, Ilan Regev-Gerby, recalled the distressing moments during the attack, including a recording of Maya’s cries, “They shot me, they shot me, they shot me!”

During an exchange, Maya’s father tried to calm her down, urging her to share her location and provide details to assist them. “He’s killing me, he’s killing me, he’s killing us! Itay, get behind the wheel,” Maya cried out.

Despite their father’s attempts to locate and guide them remotely during the ordeal, he was unable to reach them in time.

The siblings had returned to Israel on Oct. 6 after celebrating their mother’s birthday abroad.
