Blinken to Herzog: Looking Forward to Discuss Way Ahead in Gaza

Secretary of State Antony Blinken met Thursday morning with President Yitzchak Herzog in Tel Aviv, on his third visit to Israel since Oct. 7.

At the onset of their meeting, Blinken highlighted the positive developments observed in the past week, including the successful return of dozens of hostages to their families and the increase in humanitarian aid reaching the distressed civilians in Gaza. He stressed the significance of this ongoing process, expressing hope for its continuation.

Blinken also emphasized his eagerness for in-depth talks with the Israeli government on Gaza’s future course.

In response, Herzog expressed gratitude to Blinken for the substantial efforts undertaken by the U.S. in facilitating the release of hostages, underscoring the ongoing plight of approximately 150 individuals still held captive in Gaza.
