In a joint operation involving the Border Police, IDF, and Shin Bet, two senior terror operatives were killed in the Jenin refugee camp on Wednesday.

The statement confirms the killing of Muhammad Zubeidi, a high-ranking member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Jenin, responsible for multiple shootings in the region. Also killed was Hussam Hanoun, another terror operative from the area.

According to the Shin Bet, Zubeidi was linked to a terror attack near Chermesh in May, in which Meir Tamari, Hy”d, was killed, and another attack in June, wounding a civilian and four soldiers. He was involved in orchestrating and providing support for these attacks.

The IDF and Border Police revealed that during the overnight operation, the forces besieged a building housing Zubeidi and fellow operatives, engaging in gunfire. Subsequently, the troops entered the premises, recovering two assault rifles from the bodies of Zubeidi and Hanoun.

Also, 17 wanted Palestinians were arrested in the region, weapons were confiscated, and the IDF located a tunnel shaft and equipment for manufacturing firearms.

Amid the operation, clashes erupted in the area with Palestinian terrorists targeting troops and others hurling explosive devices. The IDF responded with fire and conducted a drone strike against a group of terrorists.
