Captives who returned home to Israel say they saw Hamas head Yahya Sinwar while they were being held in a tunnel, according to Channel 12 News.

During the first days of the war, a captive woman says she and other abductees were being held in a tunnel when they met Sinwar, the mastermind of the October 7 massacre, who lives in Qatar.

The captive says that Sinwar looked at the hostages and said “Hello, I am Yahya Sinwar, you are the most protected here. Nothing will happen to you,” in Hebrew.

The story was given to the family and verified by the authorities who are investigating the matter. Sinwar was known to have studied Hebrew while in prison in Israel.

Israel has vowed to find and kill Sinwar for his heinous crimes.
