BROOKLYN — A man punched and spat on a Jew in Gravesend and yelled anti-Jewish statement Tuesday evening, in the latest incident possibly arising from Hamas’s war with Israel.

The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. on Avenue X near Ocean Parkway, Flatbush Shomrim told Hamodia. The man screamed at the Jew that All-ah will kill him and “All-ahu Akbar.” The Jew followed the man, who then spat on him and punched him, while continuing to yell “All-ah Akbar.”

The man was apprehended three blocks away around 6:15 p.m.

The suspect appears to be white. Police have not immediately released his name or the charges.

This is the latest of several mostly minor incidents in Brooklyn that may be related to the Israel-Hamas war.

Last week Tuesday, two Uzbek teens shot gel guns at Bnai Yosef shul, on Ocean Parkway and Avenue P. After hearing the noise of the gun being fired, a group of people exited the shul and confronted the suspects, who fled the scene. Police apprehended the 16-year-old suspects with the help of Shmira. They were given Criminal Court summonses.

On Shmini Atzeres, mere hours after Hamas’ deadly assault began, two Arab teens in Midwood twice pushed Jewish teens to the ground after asking them if they were Jewish. No one has been arrested in that case. On Simchas Torah in Kensington, four males (three Jewish, one non-Jewish) were hit with BB’s on Lawrence Ave near McDonald Avenue in at least two separate incidents around an hour apart. None of the victims was seriously hurt, there is no description of the shooter, and the motive is unknown.
