Soldier Killed During Jenin Operation Identified as David Yehuda Yitzchak, Hy”d

Late on Tuesday, an Israeli soldier lost his life during operations in the Jenin refugee camp. The soldier has been identified as Sergeant David Yehuda Yitzchak, Hy”d, 23, from the community of Beit El. He was the eldest son of, lhbch”l, Moshe and Amona and had six siblings, as confirmed by Shay Alon, the head of the Beit El local council.

The IDF released a statement saying, “Sergeant First Class David Yehuda Yitzchak, 23 years old, was a combat soldier in the Egoz Unit, from the community of Beit El. His family has been notified.”

During the exit from the Jenin camp, Yitzchak was shot and wounded in an exchange of fire. Immediate medical attention was provided at the scene, and he was then airlifted to HaEmek Medical Center in Afula. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. His funeral is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Yerushalayim.

The incident is currently under investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the soldier’s death.
