Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein Announces
Summer Reading Challenge

Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein is inviting local children to participate in his NYS Assembly Summer Reading Challenge. Those who complete the challenge will be awarded an official State Assembly Excellence in Reading Certificate.

“Reading is vital for young New Yorkers’ intellectual development, especially over the summer months when it’s more important than ever to hone their reading skills,” said Assemblyman Eichenstein. “That’s why I’m excited to announce my Summer Reading Challenge, which will help motivate our children to continue reading and develop a love of learning.”

To participate in Assemblyman Eichenstein’s Summer Reading Challenge, children must read for at least 15 minutes a day for 40 days during the months of July and August.

Children may read by themselves or together with a partner or parent. After marking 40 days on the calendar, they may submit it to Assemblyman Eichenstein’s office to receive their official State Assembly Excellence in Reading Certificate by mail.
