Ben Gvir Fires MK Cohen From Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee

National Security Minister and leader of the Otzma Yehudit party Itamar Ben Gvir punished fellow party MK Almog Cohen on Tuesday for his public criticism of the party by removing him from his spot on the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.

MK Cohen took aim at his faction leader after his dismissal from the committee.

In a post sent out following a meeting between himself and Ben Gvir, Cohen accused Ben Gvir of carrying out “personal vendettas” instead of addressing an upsurge of crime and violence in the Negev and Galilee regions.

“I was disappointed to hear of my dismissal,” Cohen said.
