Speeding Car Kills 2 People Near Boro Park

Speeding car crashing in another vehicle and jumping the curb on a street near Boro Park.

BORO PARK – A speeding, reckless driver ran multiple red lights before plowing into a vehicle and causing a crash that killed two people on the outskirts of Boro Park.

Video footage shows a white sedan traveling at a high rate of speed through the intersection of 18th Avenue and 60th Street, narrowly missing a van as he runs a red light, shortly before 12:50 p.m. Monday.

Moments later, another video shows the car plowing through another red light at 64th Street, striking a dark SUV. Several pedestrians were struck  in the crash as well.

EMS and paramedics responded to the scene.

According to police, two people were pronounced deceased, one person is in critical condition, and four are in stable condition.

Police did not immediately have a breakdown of which victims were pedestrians and which were in a vehicle.

The driver was taken into custody. Charges were not immediately announced.
