Opposition leaders in the Knesset sent a letter to Amir Ohana, the Speaker of the Knesset, requesting additional time to examine the new outline for judicial reform which the coalition put forth.

After stating that the convening of the Constitution Committee tomorrow is a disgrace of the Knesset, and decrying what they described as a fundamental change of the system of governance in Israel, the opposition letter stated, “We request that the chairman of the committee convene another discussion with the participation of Knesset members and relevant experts and allow additional time to study and understand the new proposal and to write reservations,” the opposition said.

The letter was signed by Yair Lapid, Benny Gantz, Avigdor Lieberman, Meirav Michaeli and Mansour Abas.
