Deri Law Passes First Reading in Knesset

The “Deri Law 2” has passed its initial reading in the Knesset by a vote of 63 to 55. MK Aryeh Deri did not vote on the law due to a conflict of interest.

Deri Law 2 states that the High Court of Justice will not be able to conduct judicial review of the appointment of ministers.

The law will now be returned to the special committee to prepare for a second and third reading.
