BD”E: Minibus From Antwerp to London Overturns; Driver Killed, 18 Injured
Reb Shimmy Segal, z”l, a chareidi driver from London was killed and 18 passengers were injured in a traffic accident between a minibus and a car outside Antwerp, early Sunday morning.
The minibus, carrying a group of Chassidim from London who had traveled to visit the Pshevorsker Rebbe, shlita, in Antwerp for Shabbos, hit a passing car and then overturned. Reports suggested that the driver had a medical incident, causing the accident.
The driver was killed on the spot and two of the bachurim are hospitalized. Their names for tefillos are: Tzvi ben Rochel Liba and Avraham Eliezer ben Chayah Yutel, b’soch she’ar cholei Yisrael.
Local Antwerp askanim are working on the quick release of the body of Reb Segal, for proper kvod hameis.
Most of the other passengers were lightly injured, and didn’t require hospitalization.
