Orthodox Jew Assaulted In Outskirts of Crown Heights

(CrownHeights.info/Hamodia) — An Orthodox Jewish man was the victim of unprovoked assault in Remsen Village Wednesday morning, taking a punch to the head that left him shaken.

According to reports, Crown Heights Shomrim were called around 8:50am to the scene on Remsen Ave between Winthrop and Clarkson, on the outskirts of Crown Heights. When they arrived, they found the man suffering from the blow, with the perpetrator having fled the scene.

The victim had been able to quickly call Shomrim and 911 despite the assault, and stated that the man had approached without saying anything and attacked. The victim managed to take a photo of the perpetrator, and gave it to Shomrim and the NYPD.

Baruch Hashem the victim’s injuries were not serious and he did not require medical attention.

A police report was made, but police are not investigating it as a hate crime, because no antisemitic words were said.
