Arab Residents Riot in Silwan

Following violent riots in the Silwan neighborhood in Yerushalayim, during which Molotov cocktails were thrown and fireworks were shot at the Israeli police and border police forces, police moved in to arrest the attackers.

An MGB officer who had fireworks and Molotov cocktails fired at him at a distance of just a few meters returned fire at the two suspects and neutralized them. Both attackers were moderately injured and were evacuated for medical treatment.

No injuries were reported to the Israeli police forces.

In a search, various weapons were seized by the police, including a Japanese knife and a firework canister.

The area returned to quiet, and increased police forces are deployed in the area to maintain public order.
