Fire in Midwood Apartment Building

A fire broke out in a Midwood apartment building Monday morning, leaving one man injured.
FDNY and Hatzalah arrived at the scene, at 1256 East. 13th, between Avenues M and L, where smoke was seen at around 10:30 coming out of the 6-story structure. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
The injured man, in his 70s, was transported by Hatzalah to Staten Island University Hospital in critical condition with burns and smoke inhalation.
