NEW YORK — A sixty-three-year-old Jewish male walking in Central Park a little past 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, was struck by an assailant who made antisemitic comments before fleeing the scene.

The victim was walking in the vicinity of Terrace Drive and East Drive when the suspect ambushed him and struck him from behind, knocking him to the ground. The victim broke a tooth and his hand when he fell as a result of the attack.

The assailant made antisemitic remarks and yelled, “Kanye 2024,” a reference to Kanye West, a celebrity running for president who has made antisemitic statements and praised Hitler.

The assailant fled westbound on Seventy Second Street on a bicycle which had a bike-trailer attached which seemed to be filled with various items, including a sign which read “Disabled Hungry.”

The suspect was described as a male approximately in his 40’s with a medium build and light completion. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket, beige pants, white sneakers and a multi-colored hat.

The victim was transported to a local hospital by private means and is reported in stable condition.
