YERUSHALAYIM – Likud signed a letter with Yahadus Hatorah delineating the portfolios and chairmanships they will hold in the upcoming Knesset, concluding drawn-out negotiations in the matter.

Yahadus Hatorah MK Uri Maklev stipulated in the Knesset plenum on Wednesday that it is a letter of understandings, not a coalition agreement.

He said they will meet with Likud later in the day to discuss major issues that have awaited resolution since two weeks ago, when talks stalled.

The letter, released Tuesday afternoon, stated that Yahadus Hatorah will receive the Chairmanship of the Finance Committee, Minister of Planning and Housing including the Israel Lands Authority, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Transportation, Minister for Jerusalem Affairs and Heritage, Chairmanship of Interior Committee and Protection of the Knesset Vicinity, Chairmanship of the Labor and Welfare Committee of the Knesset, Chairmanship of the Public Inquiries Committee of the Knesset, and Assistant Minister of the Office of Welfare or another office with the agreement of the Prime Minister.

The letter was signed by Rabbi Yitzchak Goldknopf for Agudas Yisrael, Rabbi Moshe Gafni for Degel Hatorah and Yariv Levin for Likud.
