IDF Lightens Punishment of Soldier in Chevron Incident

The commander of the IDF’s Southern Command approved on Friday the lightening of the punishment of a Givati soldier who was sentenced to ten days in prison for statements he made to a left-wing activist in Chevron last Friday.
The soldier’s punishment will be reduced to six days in prison. The decision was made in light of regret expressed by the soldier as well as the fact that the soldier took responsibility for his actions.
