Report: Iran Tells Thailand No More Attacks on Israelis

By Hamodia Staff

YERUSHALAYIM – Iran has promised Thailand that it will cease its attempts to carry out attacks on Israeli targets on its soil, Walla news reported on Tuesday, citing a Foreign Ministry cable.

Bangkok notified Israeli officials of the message from Tehran two weeks ago during a high-level diplomatic visit to Thailand, the report said.

The network did not say what commitments Iran may have received in return for the promise.

Iran has in the past plotted several terror attacks against Israelis in Thailand, a popular tourist destination.

Iran has threatened revenge against Israel for an alleged series of assassination of Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists. In the past year, the Mossad said it has foiled a number of Iranian attempts to harm Israeli diplomats in Colombia and other countries, as well business people and tourists in Turkey, Georgia and Cyprus.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry declined to comment on the report, while the Thai Embassy in Israel told Walla that the facts of the report were not accurate.
