In Sunday’s New York Times Sept. 11 weekend edition, the main headline of the front page is “Failing Schools, Public Funds,” slamming the Chassidic yeshivah education system in New York.

This article, with its foregone conclusion, came as no surprise. In Friday’s Daily edition, Hamodia ran a front-page editorial, under the title “All the News That Fits the Narrative” ahead of the release of this so-called investigative report.

Hamodia asked tough questions in that editorial,  yet the New York Times chose to ignore virtually all them and primarily based their article on interviews with individuals with an axe to grind and agenda to push. In their determination to besmirch a community that they clearly failed to understand, the reporters and editors of the Times made no effort to even maintain a semblance of fairness or balance.

A fuller response will be forthcoming, once we have properly analyzed the article and its numerous factual misrepresentations.
