Iran Will Not Accept IAEA’s ‘Excessive Demands,’ Media Says

Iran will not accept the U.N. nuclear watchdog’s “excessive demands,” the spokesperson of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization was cited as saying by the semi-official Tasnim news agency on Tuesday.

Iran and the United States appeared to be inching toward an agreement to revive the 2015 deal, which placed restrictions on Iran’s nuclear activities in exchange for lifting sanctions against Tehran. That deal unraveled after a U.S. withdrawal in 2018 prompted Iran to breach those restrictions one by one. It now appears that this round of talks has also unraveled.
