By Matis Glenn

A poll released Monday shows Dan Goldman ahead in the race for the Democratic nomination for the District 10 congressional seat. The poll, organized by Emerson, PIX11, and The Hill, shows the Trump prosecutor and former Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York leading the pack of a dozen candidates at 22 percent. Assemblywoman Yuh-Line Niou trailed him at 17 percent, and  Rep. Mondaire Jones (D-N.Y.) and New York City Councilwoman Carlina Rivera both came in at 13 percent.

The poll was held from August 10 through 13, the tail end of which included the day Goldman received an influential endorsement from The New York Times. Polling data was gathered from 500 eligible voters, and had a margin of error of +/- 4.3 percent.

Goldman’s lead surpasses a poll released by his campaign team on August 4, which had him at 18 percent.

The primary will be held on August 23. Early voting has already started, and will continue until August 21.
