Fire in Camp Aliyah

A large fire broke out Thursday morning in Mesivta Aliyah, located in Camp Rayim in Parksville, N.Y.

The blaze started around 11:10am, beginning in one bunk house and quickly spreading to another.

B’chasdei Hashem no one was hurt.

The camp scrambled to replace the campers’ belongings.

In a message to parents, the camp said it would be sending the boys in those bunks to Monsey via coach bus, to purchase clothing at the Hat Box, which opened specially for the boys, despite generally being closed during the 9 Days. The store is giving 50% off all clothing, and a few generous parents covered the rest of the cost.

After purchasing clothing, the boys will be taken to Walmart to purchase other needed items.

On Friday, the boys will be taken to Appletree supermarket, where each will receive a $30 gift card for food and nosh.
