BD’E – Harav Michoel Bender, Zt”l

Hamodia is saddened to report the sudden petirah of Harav Michoel Bender, zt”l, a Mashgiach in Yeshiva Bais Binyomin (formally of Stamford, presently in Monsey), who was found unconscious of an apparent heart attack in Monsey at 5:45 p.m. He was 71 years old.

Rav Michoel was known for his tremendous tzidkus, his ahavas Torah and his devotion to help anyone and everyone in need. He was a son-in-law of Harav Simchah Schustal, zt”l, the Rosh Yeshiva of Bais Binyomin, and a son of Harav Dovid Bender, zt”l, a Menahel in Yeshiva Torah Vodaas and Rebbetzin Basya Bender, a”h, one of the prominent Bais Yaakov teachers in America.

He is survived by ybl”c his wife, Rebbetzin Feiga Dina, the daughter of Harav Simchah Schustal; his brothers Harav Yaakov Bender, shlita, Rosh Yeshiva of Darchei Torah in Far Rockaway, Harav Shmuel Shalom Bender, shlita and Harav Paltiel Bender, shlita, who are magidei shiur in Yeshiva Darchei Torah; and his sister Rebbetzin Blumie Shapiro, wife of Harav Moshe Shimon, shlita, a Rosh Kollel in Lakewood. His older sister, Rebbetzin Esther Epstein, a”h, was the wife of Harav Chaim Leib Epstein, zt”l, Rosh Yeshiva of Zichron Melech in Brooklyn.

The levayah is scheduled for Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Yeshiva Bais Binyomin, 51 Carlton Road, Monsey, N.Y.
