BD”E: Rabbi Zecharia Wallerstein, Zt”l
Noted mechanech and speaker Rabbi Zecharia Wallerstein, zt”l, was niftar on Monday morning, the second day of Rosh Chodesh Iyar, at the age of 64.
Rabbi Wallerstein was the founder of Ohr Yitzchak, Ateres Naava Seminary for Girls, and Ohr Naava Women’s Institute in Brooklyn.
Over three decades in chinuch, Rabbi Wallerstein, with his trademark passion, clarity and love, touched the hearts and souls of thousands of students from all shades of the religious spectrum.
Many tefillos were held in recent months on behalf of Zechariah Shimon ben Tzirel, but alas, the gezeirah was sealed and he was niftar on Monday.
He is survived by, lhbch”l, his wife Rebbetzin Estee, their daughters and grandchildren.
The levayah will be held on Monday, at 11 a.m. at Ohr Naava, 2201 East 23rd St., with kevurah to be in Eretz Yisrael.
