20 Wounded in Ashkelon

At least twenty people were wounded in a rocket barrage in Ashkelon on Wednesday evening, according to media reports. Details were not yet available.

Earlier, a direct hit was reported on a house in Ashkelon. B’chasdei shamayim, no one was hurt, though there was extensive property damage, according to the Shaar Hanegev Council.

Air raid sirens were heard at around 9:30 p.m. in Ashdod, Ashkelon and Ofakim.

A spokesperson for the Ashkelon municipality said that they believe rockets landed in several places in the city and first responders were dispatched.

Several communities in the southern Shaar Hanegev Regional Council have lost power following the latest rocket barrage from Gaza, an official said.

Rockets also sparked a fire in one of the regional council’s communities.

Meanwhile, fresh rocket warning sirens sound in Tel Aviv and the surrounding area.
