Thousands Attend Birkas Kohanim at Kosel on Tuesday

On Tuesday, the second session of the traditional Birkas Kohanim was held at the Kosel.

In order to allow the maximum number of participants, the traditional ceremony, usually held on the second day of Chol Hamoed Pesach and Sukkos was held on both Monday and Tuesday, allowing adherence to the coronavirus guidelines.

Last Pesach, amid a spike in COVID-19 infections, the event was limited to a group of only ten Kohanim.

At the time, all public tefillos were banned in Israel to stem the spread of the virus.
The Birkas Kohanim on Sukkos was held in a very limited fashion and was not opened to the public.
