Pinny Ringel, who’s been a senior advisor to NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio since 2014, has been promoted as Assistant Commissioner for the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit (CAU).

The Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit (CAU) is the fundamental connection between City Hall and New York City residents throughout the five boroughs, according to a description on the City’s website, with the primary mission to establish deep partnerships with communities in order to actively engage and mobilize New Yorkers in City government.

The Mayor’s CAU is also responsible for integrating government into communities by working with Mayoral agencies to ensure the effective and efficient deployment of government services to NYC residents.

Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein told BoroPark24 that Ringel is a “model public servant who has served our City well for many years,” and that “this promotion proves positive of his great work for the residents of New York.”

“Pinny is a true New Yorker,” said Eichenstein, “and understands how to communicate and work with New York’s many diverse communities.”

A Boro Park official told BoroPark24 that Ringel “has been an outspoken advocate, supporter and friend for years,” who “has accomplished a lot on behalf of the Jewish community.”

“Mr. Ringel’s promotion is an asset to NYC Government and will help deepen the relationship,” the official said.
