Lebanese Parliament Accuses Israel of Environmental Aggression Against Lebanon
A day after an Israeli minister accused Iran of being behind the catastrophic oil spill off Israel’s coast, a Lebanese parliamentary committee accused Israel of responsibility for part of the same spill that washed up on its beaches.
The Lebanese parliament’s Environment Committee recommended an “urgent” complaint against to the U.N., Israeli media quoted the Al Markazia news agency as saying on Thursday.
The report said the MPs accused Israel of “environmental aggression” against Lebanon.
Earlier this week, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, head of the Shi’ite Amal movement that is linked with Hezbollah, also called for such a move, according to i24 News.
